Instituição

O Cebrap foi fundado em 1969 por um grupo de professores, alguns dos quais afastados das universidades pela ditadura militar.

Ao longo de seus quarenta anos o Centro albergou alguns dos maiores intelectuais do país, serviu como fórum de debate sobre os grandes problemas nacionais e suas soluções, bem como se tornou referência da produção de conhecimento de ponta nas diferentes ciências sociais, na filosofia e na crítica literária e artística.
